We hope this newsletter finds you healthy and ready for a fresh start in the New Year! With all of the devastating headlines in recent months economically, environmentally, and globally, it is easy to feel overwhelmed and hopeless about our immediate future. Even folks who aren't facing foreclosures or loss of jobs are hesitant to spend money in this uncertain climate and the economy is feeling the effects with businesses closing right and left. It is a difficult time for many, and we certainly have felt the effects at our little store as our sales have been cut in half. However, we are hopeful that things will get better, slowly but surely. As Abraham Lincoln said, "The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at
a time."
So with those wise words in mind, we here at Scrapbook Expressions are doing just that. We are taking one day at a time and focusing on what we can do today, as the only scrapbook store in our area, to keep our doors open, while better serving the needs of our customers and the community. We are cutting costs where we can and hoping to expand our inventory in the coming months to go beyond the scrapbook page and address the needs of the many other paper crafters who visit us looking for supplies.
In order to boost our sales and make room for new inventory, we are holding a storewide sale all of next week. We are also making some exciting changes and additions to our policies that will benefit our customers and hopefully get them back in our store and, better yet, inspired to scrapbook again!
WINTER CLEARANCE SALE
Winter Clearance Sale will run all of next week, beginning on Tuesday, January 27th through Saturday, January 31st. This will be a storewide sale with 20%-70% savings on every item! This is only the second time we have done a storewide sale, so take advantage and stock up!!
NEW IN 2009
• Store hours Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Closed Sundays and Mondays. A reminder that the store is open until 9 p.m. on our Friday night crops (3rd Friday of the month).
• Back by popular demand! FREE daycropping, with a minimum $10. purchase, for those of you interested in scrapbooking in our store during business hours. Drop-ins welcome! No reservations needed. Space is available on a first-come basis.
• Introduce a friend to our crop nights and crop for FREE, or split the fee! Friday night crops will be held regularly on the 3rd Friday of the month. A reminder that croppers also earn a FREE crop every 5 crops they pay for. Crop fee--$15.00, includes use of our tools & die-cuts, scrapbooking tips and ideas, and 10% off all merchandise, excluding other discounts and sale items.
• FREE "hands on" demo for beginning scrapbookers. Held at our monthly crops at 6 p.m.- 6:30 p.m. Participants will see how quick and simple it can be to create a scrapbook page and get to try different tools out for themselves. Receive 10% discount on all purchases that evening. Beginning classes still available by appointment for those who prefer. $20. fee includes instruction and materials to complete a two page spread.
• "Refer a friend" rewards program. Introduce a friend to scrapbooking by having them attend our "hands on" demo for beginners or a beginners class, and you RECEIVE A $15. GIFT CARD! Beginners will receive 10% off merchandise purchased at demo/ class.
